Ang Pagbabalik ni Bakekang!


HISTORY

A comic novel written by Carlo J. Caparas: Bakekang was made into movie in 1978. It was starred by Philippine Superstar Nora Aunor and directed by F.H. Constantino.

In the film version, Bakekang is an ugly woman who begets a very beautiful twin girl from a foreigner. A movie fan as she is, she compels her daughter, named Kristal, to join show business. Her daughter becomes a big star and Bakekang, a stage mother.

Other notable characters were Perla Bautista, Renato Robles, Ruben Tison, and Crystal, daughter of Bakekang.
SUNSHINE DIZON as BAKEKANG!

It is now confirmed that Sunshine Dizon will play the lead role of Bakekang, the upcoming teleserye of GMA 7 directed by Gil Tejada and Khryss Adalia. Sunshine Dizon was surprised to find out that she was the no. 1 choice by GMA executives. GMA Network has targeted a September 11 pilot telecast to replace I Luv NY. The series will run for 18 weeks.

Other casts will include Lovi Poe (Crystal), Yasmien Kurdi (Charming), Nadine Samonte (Lorraine, daughter of Sheryl Cruz), Sheryl Cruz, Gladys Reyes, Julia Clarete and Iwa Moto (Villains), Dion Ignacio, Tyrone Perez, Marky Cielo and Cogie Domingo (Leading Men of the Daughters), Raymart Santiago and Jay Manalo (Leading Men of Bakekang).

ROLES:

Most lead roles will be played by young talents of GMA.
  • Lovi Poe and Yasmien Kurdi will play Sunshine Dizon's daughters, while Nadine Samonte will play Sheryl Cruz's daughter.
  • Sheryl Cruz and her daughter will play Sunshine Dizon and her daughters rival to fame. Sheryl and Sunshine will also fight over the affection of Jay Manalo.
  • Gladys Reyes is in love with Raymart Santiago, but Raymart is in love with Sunshine. Gladys and Tyron Perez will play Sunshine's evil cousin. Tyron is a drug addict and a rapist.
  • Nadine Samonte and Lovi Poe will fight over Cogie Domingo, while Yasmien Kurdi and Iwa Moto will fight over Marky Cielo. Dion Ignacio is in love with Nadine Samonte.
